Just in case this may help a bit, may be an alternative...

You can pull the working layer from the navigator of COMOS, with the mouse, to the desktop. Like that, you will create a shortcut you and your users may double click on.

It can be done very easily with enterprise server. ES automatically processes input command files, which you can create from any script (from Comos or outside Comos).

ES starts Comos and command says which DB / PROJECT / WO ... should be opened, which script schould be started and so on..  Also you can attach a input data file.
