Timer is a value in ms. From T#-24d_20h_31m_23s_648ms to  T#+24d_20h_31m_23s_647ms.

S5Time is a value for S5 timer. Value is XXXY in Hexa.

XXX is from 0 to 999 in binary-coded decimal

Y is a value from 0 to 3. It's the base time.

0 = 0,01 s

1 = 0,1 second

2 = 1 s

3 = 10s

As mention the time value in s5 is in bcd format  XXX.Y  where the xxx corresponds  to

000-999 and are stored in the accu in bit 0-11. The Time base (Y) is stored in bits 12-15.

therefore it is not possible to convert the S5 time BCD  value direct to integer. bit 12-15 must be 0000 before conversion to integer. And after multiply with the value that corresponds to the Y part

No, that's not correct.

Only in the Bits 12+13.

Bits 12 = 0, Bit 13 = 0 then 0.01s
Bits 12 = 1, Bit 13 = 0 then 0.1s
Bits 12 = 0, Bit 13 = 1 then 1s
Bits 12 = 1, Bit 13 = 1 then 10s

In Step7 TIA Portal you can use the timers under Legacy that uses the S5Time format. If the value in the ACCU is in S5Time format transfer the value to MW and use it as TV on the timer

Perhaps it is best to put some detail into that statement, just to avoid bad understanding for a future audience. Loading an S5TIME value in an S5 program, would look something like:

In the S7 PLCs we did that differently (using STL language)..

That does however not present directly how the value is stored in memory.

In the current generation PLCs we are using IEC-TIME which is a 32-bit signed number which represent time in milliseconds. We are also encouraged to avoid coding in STL.
