Hi all,

 I am trying to communicate a IM151-8 module with Schneider Energy meter through modbus tcp/ip. Gone through the manual in that they have mentioned ID no. what is that ID no? is there any need for GSD file of energy meter?

 I am communicating with energy meter em6436H as well with MODSCAN software, trying to read voltage from energy meter and it shows all max values i.e 6423

And also i have tried using arduino using rs485 and it also does not read the voltage.

please help me out if anyone know how to do

Did you realy read correct address and it's float32 data type?

I can't help you with the Arduino, but I doubt that the correct voltage values from the energy meter that you saw in Modscan are all the same 'max' value.   I don't think you have the correct Modscan settings to read the voltage values.   It's likely to help you understand what's going on if you get Modscan working properly before you tackle the Arduino.

As Mr. V. points out the voltage values are supposed to floating point values, a value with a decimal point, like xxx.xx.

I don't have a device to connect to, so my attached screen shot of Modscan has no true 'values other than zero.  But the screen shot does show the 2 buttons on the command bar (circled in red) that are used to select one of two floating point value formats.  If the wrong button is selected, the values will be wildly incorrect, like 3.87^10-17 

Note that the floating point values occupy every other register address (even-numbered register addresses, only) because a 32 bit floating point value uses 16 bits from one register and another 16 bits from the adjacent/next register.

The max value you cite is XXXX, probably the 16 bit integer value for only one of the two registers needed for a floating point value.
