For an S5, the communication driver also has an area pointer: "Date/time" area pointer With this, what is achieved is that the screen automatically transfers the date and time to the PLC in the area defined in the area pointer.

In the tab "Area Pointers" I have enabled for all connections the Date/Time PLC . Address DB99 DW240 . I am trying to read values in tags with addresses DW240,DW241,DW242,DW243,DW244,DW245. I only see zeros.

Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 12/19/2025 Posts: 16612 Rating: (1943)	Hello @pavalevlad@ with the Area pointer Data&Time alone you will not getit work. please read the manual of WinCC flexible with this area Pointer. You have to use the Area Pointer JobMailbox with Job 41 to transfer the HMI Systemtime to the area pointer. Bye Murof
