Is it possible to program the application of a TP170A with WinCC Flexible ?
If yes, is there a specific version of WinCC Flexible required ?
At the moment I have WinCC flexible 2008 SP5 and a SIMATIC WinCC flexible 2008 Standard licence. Is it sufficient ?

The panel model you mention can be programmed with WinCC flexible Compact version 2004 or higher. You can see it in the technical data of said panel:

yes, thank you, but i do not have WinCC flexible Compact 2004.

What i wonder is if the mention "or higher version" includes other version of WinCC flexible such as Wincc Flexible 2008.

In WinCC Flexible 2008 SP3, I can add a TP170A, I guess that it means that it would be compatible, but i just wanted and expert to confirm this fact.
Because I am expecting the answer to be like "Yes, BUT...Firmware version x.x ... etc" ;-)

The only thing necessary is to load the corresponding image to the panel. To do this, you must set the image path in the Prosave window so that the WinCC flexible image can be found and loaded.

Usually the path is as follows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Siemens\Simatic WinCC flexible\WinCC flexible Images\TP170A_Micro and there is the image file "TP170A_Micro_V7_2_4_2.img"
