I am working on implementing an additional safety feature in our PCS 7 CEMAT system to prevent unintentional operation of critical valves and dampers. Specifically, I want to configure asecond confirmation promptfor the operator before executingOpen/Close commandson certain critical valves/dampers.

The goal is toprevent accidental or unauthorized operationof these critical devices by requiring the operator to confirm their action (e.g., a pop-up with “Are you sure you want to Open/Close this valve?”).

Could someone please guide me on how to implement this in PCS 7 with CEMAT blocks or any best practices to follow for such interlock or confirmation mechanisms?

There are multiple options depending on your PCS 7 version. I asume you use APL valves/moters.

• You can change the autorisation within CFC to a higher level, 
  So only operators with knowledge can operate the valve.
