I'm using a barcode reader via USB port on the KTP400 Basic panel. The purpose of the application is to read product information.

However, a few times a day, the USB port on the panel turns off, also turning off the barcode reader. What makes reading impossible

When turning off/on the KTP400, the USB port turns on again, working again.

Why is this happening? How can I solve this problem?

KTP Version: 6AV2 123-2DB03-0AX0
Firmware: 17.0.0.0 (Up to date)​

I don't know, maybe it depends to some Power save options set to ports. Try look at some options more advanced about Power saving settings on panel, I mean maybe inside OS menus prior boot cfg of your cfg and also in case inside your TIA cfg.

Some indication regarding the USB port including in the basic panels manual are the following:

-  If you connect an external device with a 230 V power supply to the USB port without using a non-insulated installation, you may experience functional problems.

Use a non-insulated system design.

-  A USB device with too high a power load may possibly cause functional problems.

Observe the values for the maximum load of the USB interface. You can find the values in the section "USB X60".
