Problem with TD17 help required

leopk Posts: 8 Rating: (2)	Hi all, I would like to discuss one problem which i am facing in using of Text Display TD17 with S7-315-2DP CPU. I am using Protool for TD17 configuration. In our machine CPU 315-2DP is used with other Profibus slave devices like Drives, Encoders and ET-200, and also TD17 is also connected with same connection. In TD17, We have maximum 139 event messages, and 3 variables to show data. I want to add 30 more event message, and i am succesfully compiling and downloading config file to TD17, but only few newly added messages are working, i figured it out and have found that messages upto 144 are working and from 144 onward all are not working. which means only 9 WORDs are occupied. I had check AREA POINTER in Protool in which Db address is configured, which is DB20.DBW2 Length 20, which i understand that TD17 event messages are called from DB20 bits and their are 20 WORDs already configured. In PLC program's DB20 only 8 words from DBW2 are fully occupied hover 9th WORD has few configured bits are their, So that i had used all 9th and 10thWORD bits and few from 11th WORD Bits for my upgradation/modification. But after enabling 10th and 11th WORD bits in PLC i am not getting corrosponding event messages in TD17. I need help in this matter. Thanks in Advance

Please have a look in Protool project -> Event messages. Then at the right bottom, you will find the Bit that triggers the selected message. Mind there is a Byte Swap. Best regards, Wizard

Ste39 Posts: 4620 Rating: (710)	Hi leopk, If you go to messages and go on an old message you will see at the bottom right DB20.DBX x.x (your area pointer), then go to a blank line, always at the bottom right there is another pointer to bits, there you can write the message, otherwise we will compare the area pointer is not available. Try to continue to decline at least 16 messages may reappear the pointer.

leopk Posts: 8 Rating: (2)	Thanks Wizard and Ste39, First, sorry for my late reply. I had checked your solutions and have found corrosponding Bits for corrosponding Event Message. As i am pointing 20 bytes of event messages, Alot of spares are also present with blank event message field. If i put cursor on spare/blank pointed event message space, i can see it corrosponding bit at bottom right location. But the problem is that after typing some text on few blank spaces, i did compilation and then download it on TD17, everything seems OK. But whenever i want to show that currently added event message by enabling from PLC, i am unable to see that Event Message Text. However i had also tried to edit prevously used event messages for confirmation and after testing i got my edited messages. But here in newly added messages i am unable to get them. Also in CPU the memory area is available. And when you set a bit in CPU, that will enable the new message. (The message is not shown?) Yes you are right, message is not showing ON, currently i am looking forward in program with depth, let see if i can find any other different thing, TD17 is OK as i had checked same settings and configuration with other spare one. I'll post the result here soon.

(you can use cross reference to see if they are used anywhere else) Perhaps you can make an I/O field to show the bits on TD. (So you are sure they are 1) Best regards, Wizard
