MP277 MPI conection problem

Kev Experienced Member Joined: 6/29/2006 Last visit: 3/18/2025 Posts: 53 Rating: (1)	HI, I have an mp277 HMI connected to a 314CPU including in and output modules and a FM357. I can't seem to connect to the HMI via MPI, I have used this set up many times in the past but this time it's not having it. The HMI is MPI=1 the CPU is MPI=2 and the FM moduleis MPI=3 Using accessible nodes under S7, I can see all three. I can connect to the HMI using ethernet and now having a diagnostic screen on the HMII can confirm that the HMI can see the CPU. I require the ability to connect via MPI because I am likely to need to use Teleservice at a later date.

The problem is not being able to transfer the program. I have tried using PC adapter V5.1 6ES7 972-0CA23-0XA0 and also a USB adapter 6ES7 972-0CB20-0XA0 but no joy with either. I can however transfer the S7 program to the CPU and I can also paramatize the FM module. Currently I can only transfer the program via the Ethernet port on the HMI. I have transfer settings on the panel as Profibus/MPI Enabled Remote enabled Panel is the only master on the bus Address 1 timeout 10S transmission 187,5 Highest station 31. I am using HMI connector 6GK1500-0FC00 Profi con 6ES7 972-0BB50-0XA0 and 3 meters of Profi cable 6XV1830-0EH10 Many thanks.

What you describe is what I have the PC connected to CPU with the HMI connected via the profi cable, I believe I used to transfer the program over this connection and I only changed the MPI address to 1 in the WinnCCflexible. This time I am using the above configuration but can't get a connection to transfer the program.

Baudrate and HSA. (Only master on the bus is selected) What MPI adress does PC have? Best regards, Wizard

Kev Experienced Member Joined: 6/29/2006 Last visit: 3/18/2025 Posts: 53 Rating: (1)	I think I have found the problem but due to chging from ethernet to MPI and vice versa so many times I am not sure, It may be that I was not in a transfer mode, although remote control is ticked it appears remote control only works whilst in runtime and not from the loader. I can't be sure that I was in runtime on each attempt but it just happened whilst using ethernet mode and after switching to runtime ethernet worked as before. For the time being it is now working via the MPI. Thanks for all your help, I'll be sure to check that if the problem happens again.
