Problem transferring STRUC V4.2.6 program from SIMADYN PM5 to FM458

My task is to transfer / translate a control software program written in STRUC V4.2.6 (that is STRUC G?) from a SIMADYN D (PM5)-system to a FM458. I already have the program code (which the customer says is the latest revision) in form of several .UFP) and .PDF´s containing the block structure (I suppose, these have been created from the original STRUC-Software?). Now my questions: 1.What Software do I need to be able to work with this program code? Is this possible with D7-Sys? 2.I fear that there might exist some user defined function blocks / macro blocks or similar...could this be a problem for the migration? 3.Is there a chance to simply use an appropriate converter? If (at least partially) yes, then which one? Thank you very much in advance! Best regards, Detlef

miami Platinum Expert Joined: 8/31/2005 Last visit: 12/16/2025 Posts: 2198 Rating: (331)	Hello Detlef, First one info: STRUC can be STUCG as graphical or STRUC L as text based programming system. Both produce the same code. STRUCG includes STRUC L. After installing D7-SYS you can find a STRUC to D7-SYS converter in the SIMATIC folder. To use this tool, you need a compiled STUC program (.cmp, .cfp and some other files). The .ufp and .ump are the uncompiled program. If you can't get the compiled program, you will have to reprogram all. This should be no problem with the standard blocks (exept time). If you have user defined blocks (user libary), you must ask the producer of this libary for one for D7-SYS. I don't know, if Makros (a new block generated out of standard blocks) can be converted or have to be reprogrammed, but I keep my fingers crossed . Check for user libaries: Open the *.ufp files in a text editor. in the first line the used libaries are named. One (standardlib)must be FBSLIBV426 (or similar, I did not check the name). There can be up to three user libaries. They are named after A: B: or C: . If there is nothing, no user libary is used.

So, I assume that I first need the STRUC-software to compile the files (and then convert using the D7Sys-converter), right? Currently, I am in contact with a specialist who has STRUC-abilities, because I would like to avoid searching for the STRUC-software and this famous SCO-Unix...maybe he can do the job for me. Anyways, thanks again for your help and I will post again, if either I have new questions or, even better, the problem is solved! Best regards, Detlef
