Simatic USB S7 adapter failing over time

process Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	I am encountering strange issue with USB S7 adapter, where after few days (computer is turned off at nights) adapter stops working. Device manager shows that drivers for adapter could not be loaded. This can be fixed only with WinCC Flexible repair setup. Is there some known issue or solution for this?

However its puzzling me that it worked until we replaced computer with new running Windows 10 and since then it works for few days, then it says drivers for device could not be loaded. After repairing WinCC flexible installation it works again for few days. Do you think this could be adapter issue? Regards

Henry1675 Bronze Member Joined: 3/9/2018 Last visit: 12/4/2025 Posts: 213 Rating: (18)	Its turned of or being put in hibernation or sleep? If so, USB devices can not be recognized after resume and need a reboot. Playing around the power state on USB devices can fix it or don't use hyber / sleep.

wolves and hawks Posts: 531 Rating: (35)	I would guess windows 10 does not like something. Is the driver for Windows 10 or only "compatible". Maybe there is an issue. If you are buying the new adpater it has some benefits, too. For example does your old adapter need external power?!?
