Hi Everyone.

I am new of safety programming.

Could any one tell me why we need safety PLC or I/O's and how we will do programming for that.

If i program in safety block's, FC's etc. what is the logical benefit for that.

And please tell me what will be the good way to do safety programming.

I am so confuse in normal programming and safety programming.

What do you mean exactly when you say you are "now" in Safety programming?

You should take the time to learn about Safety apllications and understand why such programming is available in your PLC, and what they are designed to do. The following notice comes from the Overview section if the firstnlink proposed by Cocolino:

"Warning

The SIMATIC Safety F-system is used to control processes that have a safe state that can be reached immediately through shutdown. This also applies in particular to redundant S7-1500HF systems.

SIMATIC Safety can only be used for controlling processes in which an immediate shutdown does not pose a danger to persons or the environment.

When realizing safety applications including the creation of the safety-relevant project data you have to take into consideration the standards, directives and guidelines relevant for your application. In particular include standards in which the software creation process is described (for example IEC 61508-3 or ISO 13849-1).(S062)"

Safety programming requires F-CPUs and F-IO because they integrate special electronics that ensure and test that they are operational at all time, so they can force the system being controlled to a safe state as fast as possible when required. This is important when you are trying to save human lives from injury or death. To have an idea of what situations an F-program is designed for, look at Cocolino's third link, showing specific projects for a S7-1200F CPU.

Take the time to read up on Safety progrsmming and the standards that they are built on, IEC 61508 and ISO 13849-1, before you start developing a Safety project.
