As form TIA V17, there is a Tag simulator for WinCC Unified projects.

It could simulate PLC tags and give some behavior for them (random values, sinus, etc.) for test proposes.

Configuration steps:

1. Load (or simulate) the WinCC Unified application as usual
2. Call the WinCC Unified Tag Simulation (Windows start menu, Siemens automation, WinCC Unified Tag Simulation)
3. Select the arrow down button on the fist cell of the table. Choose the tag that you want to simulate
4. In the Function column (or in right menu) select the desired behavior. Set the other properties on the right menu as desired.
5. Select the option “Active” on the table or in the right menu.
6. In the open menu, select “Simulation” → “Start”

TIPs:

• The simulation “read” the tag of the running application, so an application should be active when you will use it.
• During the simulation the PLC tags are marked with a “!” (it is expected, it inform you that the tag is simulated).
• It is possible to simulate only PLC tags, at this moment no internal tags could be simulate
