Hello dear collegues,

I have installed Scout V5.3.1.4 on a PG that had TIA V13, V15.1, V16 and V17 and their components. Now when I try to open a project I get an error telling me that I need "SIMOTION software package" which is not installed. 
Also when I create a new project and try to insert a Simotion device I get an error, "The device could not be created because another Step 7 application may be accessing the data". (I do that just after starting windows and without opening any other applications)
When I try to insert a Sinamics device to a project, I get an error, "The project contains object of the software package "Drive ES / STARTER /SIMOTION", which cannot be edited because the software package is not installed or exists in an earlier version".

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Scout twice, I get the same result.

Do you have any recommendations?

Did you solve this problem?  Some thoughts I had:

• what type of project are you are trying to open? i.e. Scout classic ("Scout") or Scout TIA?  The right one needs to be installed to work with your project file.
• Perhaps multiple step7 versions are causing issues, or something is corrupt.  You could try with an empty virtual machine.  Once you have determined the correct version of Scout to use, find a compatible step7 version (TIA / Simatic Manager version) and install these two (Scout and Step7) on a new virtual machine.  Step7 first.
