I'm trying to generate ST code using Python and upload it onto the STEP 7 portal.

My code generation has been successful, but i have trouble defining variables without manually declaring them on a tag table. Is there any way i can generate the tag table using Python and then upload it onto the portal ?

What formats are accepted for uploading a tag table ? XML? CSV? 

Is it possible to entirely bypass the tag table and declare all variables via code ?

Any help or suggestions on the matter would be appreciated.

TIA Portal can import & export the PLC tag table in several file formats.

I recommend you export an existing set of tags to whichever file format works best for you, then examine how the tag definitions are formatted.   Write your program to format tag definitions in the same way, then import the file you generate into your project.
