I had this strange error with the CPU 1512sp 1-pn memory , i m using 4mb memory card for the program and the total use of the program is  around 3.4mb now when i download the same it shows error of insufficient even after i reset the memory card also why is that so can any one help me on this

we tried the suggestion but no luck it shows same thing , actually i wanted to know how much memory we can consume for the 4mb memory card cant we use 100% ??? 

if we cant why is that ??

Is there any limit for the % of memory usage even though it is 4mb 

I calculated my program and the hardware downloaded memory consumption which is around 94 % and the error is generated

There are many files besides just the PLC program on the memory card.

If you are online with the PLC, you cannot load a project that consumes more than around 40-45% of the memory card because it needs to have the running project AND the new project on the memory card at the same time.

If you are offline, you can overwrite the PLC project on the memory card and then load into the PLC and use much more space on the card.

4MB memory card for an s7-1500 project is extremely small.

I typically purchase 2GB memory cards and never run into problems.  Sure, I could go much smaller, but I don't like having to go offline just to update a PLC.

Sorry, I have none.  Get a bigger memory card is the best suggestion, or remove PLC logic, or add a 2nd PLC to handle those smaller memory cards.

I'm just like you, an end-user, not a Siemens employee or distributor.

We are doing the same of getting 6mb but I wanted to know reason for the error

If we cant use 90% of memory card then it's useless
