I came across one part of the code in one network I would like to understand it, so I'm asking for help. L MD 100 L 1.000000e+001 *R T "DATA_AREA_DB3".DB_VAR[12] I don't understand what is happening with MD100 in lines 2 and 3. Does this multiply MD100 with 10 and convert it to Real? Line 4 is, if I understand well, transferring the result into the DB3 location. Thank you very much.

Most likely the value in MD100 is a real. L 1.000000e+001 -> This loads the value 10 into accumulator #1, value in accumulator #1 automatically moves to accumulator #2 R -> This does a real multiply of the value in accumulator #1 and accumulator #2, storing the result in accumulator #1 T "DATA_AREA_DB3".DB_VAR[12] -> This takes the value is accumulator #1 and transfers (stores) it in DB "DATA_AREA_DB3" in the DB array member DB_VAR at index 12 In pseudo code DATA_AREA_DB3.DB_VAR[12] = MD100 10

Check the following manual where the *R function is described: SIMATIC Statement List (STL) for S7-300 and S7-400 Programming
