i face a mysterious problem

i have VIBA plc 315sb 315 3AG10 connected to 12 distributed station as attached through profibus.

The machine was working well but suddenly PLC lose the communication to all distributed station and the machine stop.

The indication lamps in PLC is all green no SF or ERR lamps led but all stations profibus error lamp illuminate

but the plc does not recognize the profibus error . after i cut power and get it back the machine is ok and if i start automatic the problem happen again.

So in your openion is the problem in profibus communication cabels or in some distributed modules or plc is damaged

VIPA is not a Siemens product. It started out as a clone but now belongs to Yaskawa. Go visit Yaskawa's support site and ask them for help. They would be the bet to offer assistance focussed on their product range.

Thanks a lot for your helpful information

By the way i found the problem in one of my profibus cable a movable cable with bad shield which make sudden and irreglar short circuit in profibus system DP-V1 so that error occure , and now works very well.

But i will contact yasakawa to know why PLC doesn't recognize some times the failure of profibus network. soon they answer me i will publish their answer to all of you.
