I just want to know if I want to configure the input or output of the plc sinking or sourcing, do I need to configure it also using the software (TIA Portal)? or just only by wiring? I knew how sinking or sourcing works. if sinking plc input, I need to connect common to negative supply and positive supply to common if sourcing plc input. This will be my first time using PLC hardware. Thank you.

 Only by the wiring according to the module specifications and no configuration done by TIA software.
