I need to convert a circuit from a Simatic S7-200 to a circuit with an S7-1500.

In this circuit, communication is made with OP 3 operator panel. (This is done via Profibus). I was wondering if it is possible to make this communication also via a S7-1500. because currently the communiction is sent via variable memory areas, and I don't find directly how I should do this in Tia portal.

OP3 is an old and obsolete product. See here the product life cycle.

According to its manual, it can be connected to S7-200 / 300.

And this panel is configured by protool. You won't find S7-1500 in controller list of this panel.

 I think that this can work if PB is also available on S7-1500 side. All what you need to do is set correct Slot number 1 (S7-1500) at OP3 cfg prj inside Controller parameters cfg and leave S7-300/400 type of driver as is. With very similar situtaion I did cfg with old OP77B with S7-1200 via PB and S7-300/400 driver. I think that also MPI driver can be set also because S7-1500 with available PB port can handle MPI also.

Also to your question about TIA cfg. I don't know for what TIA option you're asking, I expect S7-1500 PLC because as Ayman already mentioned about OP3 HW as absolete. All what you need is OP3 panel project because ther you need do changes in this case with S7-1500 connection. Then is easy maybe because inside this OP3 prj you can see what memory or data areas are configured, then you can easy configure them same in S7-1500. If some very specific areas are used, you need find warkaround or other manipulation inside S7-1500.
