I hope someone has a simple answer to this question ...

I have an ET200SP with a 1512SP-1 PN CPU.

I run V15.1 of TIA portal.

I have to set up a system that has a lot of CM PtP and I/O modules. I'm looking to having possible 50 or so. We want to mount this in a 19 inch rack and clearly the width is an issue.

How do I split and have 3 or more physical rows of modules. I know about the power bank (white base unit) but what about the communication between the next row and the CPU?

I hope there is an easy solution for this ...

Unfortunately, it's not possible to segment the backplane bus. Therefore, it would not be possible to place all required modules on the central unit. However, you can extend your system with decentralized ET 200SP units.

Hi gvp2020,

as already mentioned it is possible to use several ET200SP Interfacemodules.
These IM can be connected via PROFINET to the CPU.
