Connection Hardware for PC

I am a field service engineer for a German based saw company: Behringer Saws. We have just adopted Siemens hardware for the automation of our saws. We have always used a proprietary control of our own design, and either Lenze or Nord drives for the axis movement of the machines. We have since switched to a Sinamics HMI and also I got a look at one of the drives, a CU250S-2PN if I recall correctly. At this point I know absolutely nothing about it. I am attempting to get a headstart for the field as they are beginning to sell this new edition. Can anyone give me some info about communication software for that drive via PC? Does it communicate with CAN, PROFI? Where can I download said software or does it require licensing? What hardware should I buy to hook my PC to it for diagnostics and paramaterization? Any info would be great! Thanks

A 4pin serial connector and what looks like mini-usb. Hard to tell in the pictures I was sent. Which one is meant for diagnostic? And will a straight connection be okay with the one used for diagnostic. And what I mean by that is that is it as simple as buying a mini-usb to USB and plugging it in and loading the software to connect? With Lenze you always had to have a configuration interface in between the drive and your PC. But Nord just required a RJ45 - Serial - USB connection. Thanks for your information so far, I'm currently downloading the 3 parts of the software. Don't really why it's split up like that. Any information as for that reasoning?

I am also not familiar with the designation MLFB pertaining to the drives. Is that the Product number or some sort of identifier for the order of the entire unit? PLC to PSU to Drive and so on? Im going to research it myself since you brought it up but if you wanted to explain more i certainly wouldn't neglect to listen. This is all very new to me. Thanks again for all your information so far.

I've installed STARTER V 5.5 and is boots up correctly. I try and find the accessible nodes and it continues to say no nodes are found. The access point is DEVICE (STARTER SCOUT) and I've tried every single port there is just for the heck of it. But I would have assumed it would have been the USB7.1 port thats listed. It continues to say there are no accessible nodes. The drive is powered up inside the machine and is working perfectly for the machine so i know the issue isn't there. The cable I have is from an old A/V setup for a HDMI tv converter. Could it not have the right capabilities? I don't see how but it's worth an ask. Thanks again.

If you connect the cable to CU and PC the device should appear in the windows device manager and the driver should be installed automatic. if this do not happen the cable maybe is the wrong one, or the usb interface of the pc (it should be full USB 2.0 USB Interface, no frontconnector, no low power usbe and if possible no USB-C or USB 3 Interface)
