Is it best to access direct shared folder in server or to use HMI Options+ Manager?

GTSAGarcia Posts: 41 Rating: (0)	Hello: I need to save the logs that are saved in a CSV file of a TP1200 Comfort panel to a remote folder in a server. If I am not wrong, there is two options. One it is share the folder in the server and give access to the panel, so alarms can be set to be stored in this folder instead of the SD card. The other option it is to use HMI Options+ Manager, that is installed in the server and in the panel and it does the work to copy the CSV from the SD card to a folder in the server, that it is no neded to be shared because HMI Options+ in the server can access to this folder. When is it recommended to use HMI Options+ and when it is enough to use a shared folder that can be acceded from the panel? Thanks.

Thanks. I would never recommend saving data from the panel directly in a shared folder of a server. Data would get lost if connection is interrupted. Best way to ensure data is saved on the server, is to create the data locally and then use HMI Options+ to share the files. Regards, Frink

GTSAGarcia Posts: 41 Rating: (0)	In my case I can use SMB 1.0, so I was thinking in the case of the MP370 panel, that it seems a bit more diffuclt to ensure I will not lose records, because with TP1200 Confort I can use HMI Options+, with the MP370 I can't. So in the MP370 panel, I can set that the logs will be record in the shared folder, but what happens if the network fails or the server with the shared folder is not available? I would lose the log. So I was thinking that perhaps I could save the records in two locations, once is the shared folder and the other it could be the SD card. In this case, if the shared folder is not available, the log is not saved there, but at least i would have it in the SD card. But my problem is how to save the logs in the server when the shared folder is available again. Should I have to create for example a VBS script to do that? But in this case, how to save only the log records that are not saved and don't take in account the records that would be saved? Because in my CSV file I will have a lot of log records. Is it possible to mark the log records as saved in remote location and analyze with VBS which records are not saved and the update the CVS file in the shared folder? In sumary, I would like to know how to handle in the MP370 or another panels that are not compatible with HMI Options+, the case in which the shared folder is not available. Thanks.

Hello JiriSv It would be nice if you give us a few more information (which panel, which versions, which Image version ,which OS where the Share is located) the Option + Manager works without SMBv1 But you cannot have direct access to the path like without the Option+ Manager (this will need SMBv1): https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/92346478 Bye Murof
