I have a few questions about automation of installation CMC package.

If we have for example one test rack with NCU only. We take CF card and the project must be installed according some external file in which some options for the machine are specified. After installing we take this CF card and insert to assembled machine. Will it work?

How will behave CPU in this case? Is all information stored on CF card after finishing installing the project?

just replacing the CF-card does not fullfill your requirements. A couple of current operation data of the CNC are stored in RAM on the CPU, a couple of data are stored on the CF-card. These two "parts" of the data need to match each other. Incompatible data will cause a request for loading NC-standard machine data.

Basically You have two opportunities to solve that issue:
1. creation of a CF-card backup by CreateMyConfig and restore that backup on the "new" control
2. just transferring the entire CF-card in to the "new" control and manually restoring of already existing archive data

1. You can create a complete CF-card backup from the origin CNC by CreateMyConfig after finishing the package operation. Activate the dialogue "NCU/PPU result state" and activate in that dialogue the Function "Data backup CF-card" (Up.$Dialog.NcuResult.Backup = true). The CMC generates a dataset of *.tgz- and *.usz-file on your origin position of Your CMC-package. Copy these complet dataset on a USB-Stick and start that package on Your "new" control. Result: entire CF-Card will overwritten and the archive from the origin NCU will installed automatically. Caution: all already existing data on the "new" control are gone. (keeping the License file is possible, just follow the instructions during package operation)

2. save the origin archives NC/PLC/DRV/HMI (pending on Your requirements) to an external drive (USB, Network) and replace the CF-card. Clear the NC-memory and read the previously saved archive in to the control.

Finally it's important to know what data You want to prepare/modify by Your CMC-package and what data You want to remain in the "new" control. A merging of these data is not possible generally, just by an additionally created CMC-package.

You get automatically two kinds of manuals by installation the CreateMyConfig:

• an OnlineHelp is available in each (sub)tool (DIFF/TOPO/EXPERT), additionally the installation provides
• a manual as a *.pdf, stored in the installation folder, e.g. "C:\Program Files\Siemens\Automation\SINUMERIK\Create MyConfig 4.8\Doc"

The folder "...\Examples" contains some sample packages. (Available in installation folder on the harddisk and in the original installation DVD. Latest Version is V4.8 HF1 (V04.08.00.01).
