Overvoltage/undervoltage fault while PID tunning MM 440

Shawn Walker Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi Everyone, Im working with a MM440 and using it as a PID controller to control a fan to cool oil. So i need the fan to run at higher RPM when the oil is hot and as it cools to slow down. When i run the autotunning i keep getting overvoltage or undervoltage faults. here is the odd part when i run the tunning with p2271 (transducer type) at a setting of 0 (disabled) everything works fine although this setting is incorrect for my application so i set it to 1 (inversion of PID feedback signal) and run the autotuning and this is when i get my faults. i have searched for answers to this problem cant seem to find much. If anyone has some experince with this the help would be appreciated. Cheers, Shawn

RBM Bronze Member Joined: 8/21/2008 Last visit: 7/25/2025 Posts: 141 Rating: (6)	Hi Shawn Walker, the undervoltage fault could be controlled by the parameter P0210. give the supply voltage here. sometime the supply voltage falls down very low than what it should actually be. and for this over voltage issues... I used to get the same issue when i tried to do a PID tuning. so what i did is that i had increased the P1120 & P1121. If this ramp up time is very less then it may cause this issue.and also u can check out P2257 & P2258 for the over voltage issue. cheers.

JensS Posts: 739 Rating: (55)	Hi, Overvoltage is measured in the DC-Link, and occurs when the DC-Link voltage is to high. Please control your ramp times (P2257 / P2258) and the PID- setup like Kp (P2280), D (P2274), Tn (P2285) ------------------------------------------------------------- Why do you want to use PID-Control? Why you don’t use fixed frequencies? Witch signal you are sending to PID? Do you using a temperature sensor which switches ON with “high temp” and off with “low temp”? If so the PID will not work.
