Hello friends

I'm going to configure a PN/PN coupler in two different projects in PCS7 V9.1. I think I should export the GSD file from one project (X1 side) and import it to another project (X2 side). Is it correct? If so, the problem is that the "Create GSD" button is disabled until the project is coupled with another partner, and when the partner is in a different project it's impossible. Can you help me with this issue?

Step 1: Configuring the PN/PN Coupler in Project X1

• Open Project X1 in PCS7.
• Go to HWConfig and add the PN/PN coupler to your project.
• Configure the necessary parameters for the PN/PN coupler.

Step 2: Exporting/Creating the GSD File

• Since the "Create GSD" button is disabled, you will need to manually create the GSD file. Here’s how you can do it:

1. Find a Sample GSD File:

   • Look for an existing GSD file for a PN/PN coupler from Siemens or other sources.
   • Siemens may have sample GSD files available in their support or product download sections.

2. Edit the GSD File:

   • Open the GSD file in a text editor.
   • Modify the file to match the configuration of your PN/PN coupler in Project X1. This includes setting the correct parameters, I/O addresses, and any specific configurations.

Step 3: Importing the GSD File into Project X2

• Open Project X2 in PCS7.
• Go to HWConfig and use the option to import the GSD file.
• Add the PN/PN coupler to your hardware configuration using the imported GSD file.
• Configure the PN/PN coupler in Project X2 to match the settings of Project X1, ensuring compatibility.
