Hi,

What are the reasons for the following error message to appear in a GMP enabled SIMATIC Panel.

"Because of error state of the log '\Storage Card USB\Audit_Trail0.csv' no use action can be logged."

I ask because one of my HMI is showing the error message when its rebooting due to power failure. But, if I stop the runtime with 'stopruntime' function and restart runtime again I don't have that error and audit trail is generating fine.

As its ok with soft restart of the runtime its clear that HMI is detecting the USB device correctly.

What are the other reasons for the error message?

Hello Jon,

when power-off the panel the archives are not closed correctly and like normal Windows the files might be corrupted this way. So it is necessary to shut-down the Runtime (panel as well as RT Adv/Pro). When working with archives on a panel I recommend using a UPS to buffer the power-off or to shut-down the system.

An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is a system for battery backup of the supply voltage. If the power supply fails, the battery of the UPS takes over as the power supply. When power is re-established, the UPS battery stops serving as the power supply and the battery is recharged. A few UPS systems offer not only battery backup of the power supply but also the possibility of supply voltage monitoring. They ensure an output voltage without interference voltages at all times.

Systems with high priority are, for example:

• Automation system (AS)
• Network components
• Archive server
• WinCC server
• WinCC clients
• Panels

Please note I can't keep HMI on UPS without shutdown.

I have the same problem too.

This error because of The SD card (Or the USB Drive) is not connected (physically) so that the data record is not entered. 

OpenAllLogs is probably missing.

I ran into same issue as discussed here , I unchecked the option for start up enabled and log alarm in historical data window (Trail Audit), because i am not using any USB or MC in TP1200.
