Log (using archives) User Name

We have several users and we would like to log the user name (when it change) into an USB drive connected to the HMI. We do not have Auditrail. We have set a cyclic operation where when operator changes, we write the new operator name into an internal HMI variable of WString type. We have tried with the archives in TIA but they don't allow the WString to be logged. What wee can do ? Thanks
