Hi everyone, I need some help about the calculation of required memory in order to save several tags using WinCC 8.

I already set the limits for single unit, i.e. 2 gb, and for total units, 400 gb, but I would understand how to calculate how much space is occupied by a "single cycle", I mean that I would know how much an analog value occupies during a single cycle.

Then I can perform the calculation as: Acquisition/s * Size of each tag* N.values* 60s/m * 60m/h * 24h/d * 30d/m * N.months, is it right?

Thank you for the answer! I already saw this guide, but it just indicates some examples, using, as size for the process values, 16 or 6 bytes, why?

Furthermore, I tried to calculate my daily required amount of memory, and it seems like my values occupy about 1 gb for a day, considering 50 Mb for slow tags and 850 Mb for fast tags, so I set for a single segment 2 gb / 2 days and for the total period 400 gb / 12 months.

Now I'm running the Wincc, just to see how much space is occupied, and in 24 hours I have the fast log, slow log and alarm log folders with the same weight, about 1 gb each one, how it is possible?

I'm missing something.
