Hello all,

I am currently working on a project that is in French and in English. We have a popup with buttons to change between the two.

We also have faceplates in the project that give information about some of the equipment. Important to this question is the name, which is an input string to the faceplate in TIA portal. This is a hardcoded string, not modified by any tags, etc.

When we press the button to change languages on the running HMI, all of the faceplates that previously had the equipment names on them change to display "Name" instead, which is the default text. If the page is closed and re-opened, the names come back correctly, but of course that isn't ideal.

Also important to note I think is that in the faceplate editor the text box to display the name has an entry in 'Texts' that I can't remove. That has all of the project languages set to the default value "Name." I believe what is happening is that when the faceplate is initialized, it set the current language's column to the input from the faceplate interface, but the rest of the columns remain "Name." Then when the language is switched, the text display is now looking at the wrong column.

Is there a way around this issue? I can presumably find a way to refresh all of the relevant pages whenever the button is pressed to change languages, but that is a serious pain and shouldn't have to be the case anyway.

We are using TIA V19 Update 2.

If it would make any difference, we will be updating to V20 as soon as we have a license (didn't get one ordered until we got on site, so it will be arriving sometime in the next two weeks...)

Thank you for your reply. We unfortunately had to move on to more pressing issues at that job site and I lost track of this issue. I will come back to it at some point, and will try to dynamize it differently per your suggestion.
