In WinCC Unified you cannot use a template screen like in WinCC Comfort/Advanced.

The way of creating your Screen hierarchie is different. You can use Screenwindows for using screen in screen. Which this you have to think about how you set upd your screen hierarchie. If you have some areas in your screen that are identical then just use a screen windows for this with a specific screen content, then you would have to edit only this one if you have to change something.

But a screen that lays behind like the template screens in WinCC Comfort/Advanced is not possible.

You have to rethink your strategy of building screens in Unified a little bit

you mean that we are supposed to define displayt areas that we will hide or show ?

 Its not like hiding or showing screens or items... You have to build your screen hierarchie in a different way as it was in WInCC Comfort/Advanced.

For example you have a startscreen with screen windows for content, navigation, header, global content or alarms ....

the most things like header, navigation and the main content you will need in almost every situation, so they are shown all the time. you just change the screen in the screenwindow of the content.

If you need to hide something of course you can do it but it is not like in Comfort/Advanced that you can only show one screen (with a template or not), you can show any screen also if you need multible times parallel... or different screens parallel in different Screen windows.
