GET(SFB14) actual data transfer size?

HOGY Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	HI, I want know GET function detail, plz These days, I'm actually testing Get function (i use S7-400 two sets of S7 connection configuration) according to this link https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/26483647 it says Get function transfer of data from max 400 bytes but, my test results, One Get function was that even 20 bytes of data could not be exchanged I wonder what causes this kind of situation I use CPU 417-4(V5.3) for both sets. Also, there is no block error when running. I still testing it, but the problem is the same.

Check what kind of error the blocks are given.This FAQ will help you: How do you evaluate the status of system blocks in STEP 7 (TIA Portal)? Check the online-help for the meaning of the status. regards,

(1/4 Errors in the receive area pointers RD_i involving the data length or the data type) receive area is more than 1000 bytes. and The send area is the same size. I wonder why the error occurs. Is this correct? You have that DB1222... on both devices? This is what you need check, documentation to PUT/GET shows this how to configure. Can you show us that DB12222 internal structure definition? Have that DBs same structure? Then we can continue next because also isn't clear to me via which interfaces you have connected both devices. Then can be problem with correct PUT/GET selection due that interface.

There is an internal buffer memory which is allocated at the first call of the SFB by the size of the Any-Pointer at the parameters. Increasing the size of the Any-Pointer in runtime thus won't work, this will need a CPU restart (not without some tricks). Decreasing the size works.

I also notice that is better don't size the pointer more than 400byte in the case of S7-400, however in some cases I observed that if adjust the pointer a little more that 400 bytes (maybe 420bytes) it works but if you adjust to 490byte it doesn't work, even the block is disabled, do you know something about this? Thak you for the tip
