You cannot add a communication channel on your own. You can only use the supported ones.

If you have third party PLCs tthat do not fit tot the existing communiction drivers you could use common standardized communcation protocols like OPC UA. WinCC Unfied systems (Unified comfort Panels and PC RT) can act as OPC UA server/client

Often if the PLc cannot act as OPC Server itself the manufactures offers in most cases OPC UA Server that can access the own PLCs
