S7-1200 G2 External Encoder Error

I am trying to run the project on plcsim but it is not running. Plc is always at stop mode. You can see the attached image for diag buffer. I also tried to run example project of the library it gives the same error. Is it a bug about plcsim or is it about CTRL_HSC_EXT block itself? ps: I am trying to use "Additional Sensor for TO_PositioningAxis" method. This seems as though the wrong version of the instruction is made available. Remove mention of the instruction and pull in the instruction from the toolbox. Make also sure that the instruction is the newest instruction version that it can be. Also check - you are not running on the newest Step7 update version. That could help. Unfortunately I cannot help you check the issue. The example Siemens is offering is too complicated; it cannot be opened with simply Step7 Basic only. I have made a comment on the page where you found the application note (FAQ). My own installation is but 4 hours old – without formal instruction from Siemens. I suggest you also send Siemens a comment on that page which should invoke someone close to the example to have a look. Please let us know if Siemens Support responds something helpful on your comment.

Especially true if you have moved to another CPU than what Siemens uses in the example. Then ensure the hardware and the software is loaded completely to the G2. The CPU should go through a STOP/RUN transition.

Trying to re-create the block from toolbox was my first thought also but did not work. I created the new project folllowing the pdf and it did not work. Then I tried to use the example without changing anything but stil the same. Like I said i only tried with plcsim. I am commenting on the page and contacting local siemens support.

The encoder functionality will not simulate. But it is the first time that I see that the simulator react the way it does. It is a G2 / V20 thing. There is an update for the simulator which you should load on your PC. But ultimately the Siemens Support guys should have a say.
