PLCSim V18 is awful!

It doesn't work properly, it crashes all the time and has lost functionality that was critical for it usefulness!

Siemens has significantly let themselves and all their users down!
The older V17 PLCSim had it's qwerks but it was usable. It had slider adjustment for Analogue in puts which meant you could adjust them without typing a new value, because that's how analogue signals change! Ridiculous that this has been lost.

Also you could drag and drop variables from TIA straigh input simtables, which you can't do now. And you could type an address and drag it down to give you the next sequential address etc. This functionality is now lost.

And Siemens don't care! I raised a support request and they just said ‘this is the way it is’ so basic they said ‘tough, deal with it!’.

Or buy the Advanced Sim for a huge fee!

Thank you Siemens for pushing me closer to going elsewhere!

As the responsible product manager at Siemens, I would like to provide you with a response to your concerns.

We made a conscious decision in the development of PLCSIM to fundamentally revise the user interface and functionality. Our goal was to simplify the use of PLCSIM Advanced and improve the integration into the TIA Portal environment.

I can understand that the removal of some features that were appreciated in the past can be frustrating for you. However, let me assure you that this was a deliberate step towards a modern and more powerful simulation environment.

Specifically, the adjustment of analog values via sliders is a feature that we will be reintroducing in the near future. We also plan to restore the ability to directly drag and drop variables from the TIA Portal into the simulation tables.

I would like to encourage you to continue providing feedback to our team. We take the needs of our customers very seriously and will work to gradually improve PLCSIM future versions and add important features.
