jklm Posts: 1742 Rating: (309)	Hello, Iam not sure to understand wel what you mean. Normally the configuration is hold by the CPU, in system DBs, which are downloaded to the CPU by downloading the HWConfig from the project into the CPU. If you download HWConfig, the CPU must go to STOP.

There is a possibility tochange configuration while PLC isrunning, but you need higher level HW for this. Look to configuration manual and search for "CiR" - Configuration in RUN. Regards Sydney

But will that be possible even if we are using some other card other than CP 5613 Card(From siemens)as master and hence, some other software other than Simatic Step7?

Imho it doesn't depend on interface you use for downloading. Concerning another SW for configuration, this I don't know, try to find it in manual for this SW.
