mm420 COMMUNICATION PROBLEM with CPU315 2DP-PN

tmcbob Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Hello, for the first time i'm working with the MM420. I'm making a network with a CPU315 2DP-PN,a TP177 and a MM420 with Profibusmodule 6SE6400-1PB00-0AA0 I connected it over profibus and from the moment I plug in the profibusplug in the MM420, the total network fails. I'm not able to see the CPU or TP177anymore. I donot have a SF or BF led lighted on the CPU. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong please? Thanks, Bob

RBM Bronze Member Joined: 8/21/2008 Last visit: 7/25/2025 Posts: 141 Rating: (6)	Hi tmcbob, for the communication with VFD - S7 CPU, you need to set certain parameters P0700 = 6 (CB on com link) P0918 = __ (address to be set which is configured in you S7 hardware configuration) P1000 = 6 (CB on com link) I think this should work. and if when PLC is restrated sometime it may show an error F0070. during that time increase the P2040 time. This parameter you can refer in the parameter list. rgds, RBM If all of your components in network fails means then there is some problem with your networking. Even if MM not configured, you must be able to see your TP177 when you go online with CPU315. Just check if the address set to your TP177 is same as you set in the hardware configuration on PLC and also check in the profibus cable that both the ends should be ON and the middle should be OFF

Hello tmcbob potentially yes, and I suggest you check the two obvious reasons for this first: 1.) Node address of MM (set either via DIP switches on its Profibus board OR via P0918, see chapter 5.1 of THIS manual for more). If your MM hasa Node address that isalready in use by either the PLCor the TP, your Network has no choice but to fail. 2.) Faulty MM Profibus board (do you have a spare one?) I hope this helps
