Redundant S7-400 and a single S7-300F

What is the best and most convenient way to communicate between redundant 400H and a single 300F that is placed behind the Y-Link, should I use Process Image or maybe it is better to use some system functions?? 2. Is it possible to somehow download the S7-300F program, through the Engineering Station (ruiting via 400 CPU), the S7-300 is behind an Y-Link? Or do I have to use an external connection to this CPU? Since you use S7 300 fail safe PLC, I gues your application is safety critical. I'm pretty new to this filed and in my other posts I realized that if all components arenot fail safe, then whole systemcannot be considered as fail safe. DoesS7 300 F process only safety taks or....? Thanks

dzwilu Posts: 146 Rating: (4)	The S7-300F realizes it's own safety program, independant from them main system, it just gives information to the 400H Station which safety action took place. The point is, we need to program the 300F from the ES, because it is placed far away from the control cabinet... Best regards dzwilu

The easiest way is to exchange data (less than 244 bytes) with your H-System is using a Y-Link. You can find more details in Configuring an S7 CPU as DP slave on the H system using a Y-Link. dzwilu 2. I don't think it's possible. Configuring an S7 CPU as DP slave on the H system using a Y-Link Parameterize the DP interface of the CPU 315-2DP as DP Slave. Here it is particularly important that the DP slave parameter "Test, commissioning and routing" remains disabled. It is not allowed to configure an active node after the Y-Link Best regards. H-H

Tim de Bruin Posts: 14 Rating: (4)	Hi dzwilu, Although H-H has helped you sufficiently, I would like to point out that all H-CPU's also support F-functionality. So there is no need to use a seperate CPU to achieve F-functionality. If you insert I/O-cards with F-functionality in the distributed ET200M (redundant) stations and buy the licence to use the F-functionality in the H-CPU, you will have integrated the H and F functionality in one system. No need for seperate CPU's and seperate S7-programs. greetz, Tim

gfair Posts: 37 Rating: (0)	There are some power plants that require a seperate safety PLC. It can make downlaods to the balance of plant PLCs easier and maintain the integrity of the safety program if it is kept seperate for the BoP. I'd use IE to communicate to the F-system S7-300.
