MM 440 connect to PC

scientist Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	I have a driver, siemens micomaster 440. I want to control a 3phase induction motor with this inverter via PC using MATLAB. I think there are a few method for this such as profibus, RS-485, USS etc. Which one is better? And I will send data which involves speed,direction, start, and stop info. which data sholud I send? I don't know structure of data. For instance, 1. byte = direciton 2.byte = speed .... .... n.byte. in a nutshell how can I control this driver from PC???

JensS Posts: 739 Rating: (55)	Hi scientist, 1. Profibus: is a protocol; to control a MM440 via Profibus you need a Profibus module (6SE6400-1PB00-0AA0) 2. Uss: is also a protocol 3.
