siwarex FTC module without MMC can work ?

In the manual I found A SIMATIC Micro Memory Card can be used for saving the calibratable records or for recording weighing states and After formatting the MMC with SIWAREX FTC, it can no longer be used in the SIMATIC CPU. Therefore, the MMC should be labelled correspondingly . Questions: may I use non SIMATIC MicroMemory Card (eg. simple MMC(multimedia card)); Siwarex can work without this card?
