Step7 Basic interference with WLAN adapter?

Since I have installed Step7 V10.5 SP2, I have faced some problems regarding WLAN adapter on my laptop? I need to enable and disable the adapter a number of times then it is OK!!! Any body faced similar problem? Regards. Tomy.

The topic was about a user claiming his connection with STEP7 not working via an PCMCIA Card to any profinet PLC. His onboard interface worked well, but he didn't want to disconnect cable from office network each time to work with STEP7. I suggested to reset the Windows Sockets via "WinSock XP", which may help solving problems with Ethernet cards, but it didn't work in his case. It only works if he disables his onbaord card. The next tip was to check that there are only one DNS server and only one standard gateway in use at all. In some companies there are polices which prohibit the use of two network interfaces at the same time. So, that's all informations given in the thread there. Maybe there is something usefull for you - otherwise we need to know some more about your problem and your system environment. Are there any eventlog entries or what exactly happens if you switch to WLAN?

Bareel Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	My German is not that good either. I have a laptop with XP where I had a wireless connection to the network and used the free connector to the PLC. My impression is that Step 7 Basic is able identify the two connectors but that some parts of the program use the wrong network. Giving: Yes I found the PLC and gave it an IP adress. No, I was unable to find the PLC to load the application. As the developers probably work with a single network connector, it should not be surprising that this is a buggy part of the application. Setting the PLC directly to the network and by this avoiding two networks solved the problem.
