If you connect two motors and set the circuit breaker of the total current a overload situation of one motor isn't protected. So one circuit breaker can only protect one motor. kind regards LesPaul

I don't think there will be any problem in connecting 2 motors - same or different rating. Just you have to provide individual protection on overload and heating just like multi motor in case of drive system Regards, Devesh

Valli Posts: 262 Rating: (45)	Hey friendz, We have to understand the desire of him..it seems he likes to operate and protect two motors with one circuit breaker.... this is not suggested and recommended under any circumstances ( be motors of same rating or different). Now if you have to operate two motors with one circuit breaker then it should be used only for providing Short circuit protection and seperate overload relay +contactorsor MPCBs ( having overload and shortcircuit protection)should be used. Circuit dig should be somewhat like attached Attachment Parallelling of Motor with one Breaker.jpg (413 Downloads)
