Installing DriveMonitor on Windows 7, 64-bit

Heath Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	We've recently had our workstations upgraded to 64 bit computers loaded with Windows 7. I've been trying to reinstall DriveMonitor 5.4 SP2 and am not getting far. The installer runs and proceeds through the install, but reports "Failed" for the DriveMonitor part. If I try to run the installer directly from DriveMonitor_V5_4_SP2/Setup/DriveMon/Disk1/ then I see ES USSParam briefly appear and then a short time later an error dialog that reads: One or more files were not transferred correctly during installation of the DriveMonitor software. Install the software again. If the error still occurs, contact your Siemens representative, as it is probably a fault on the diskette/CD. The same errors appears whether I use the originally downloaded setup archive or a copy I burnt on to a CD. Once I exit the installer, Windows occasionally displays a dialog stating that the installation may not have been performed correctly, giving the option of running it again with different settings. If I choose to proceed, the same error occurs. Is DriveMonitor compatible with Windows 7? What about 64-bit?

Read the readme file of your DriveMonitor CD, where it is listed supported OS: - MS Windows 2000 SP3 oder SP4 - MS Windows XP SP1, SP2 oder SP - MS Windows Server 2003 SP1 - MS Windows Vista Business / Ultimate.

Heath Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Acknowledged. I did see that list of supported operating systems, but sometimes unsupported != not working! I have successfully installed DriveMonitor in a VirtualBox session of Windows XP and hope that it will get us going again.
