mattop88 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	I'm new with this siemens PLC S7. I need helps to sizing and selecting PLC, IO cards and communication network. Can you suggest the hardware and communication that I need to use. Below are my spec. 1. Need 55 digital input 2. Need 58 anolog input 3. Need to communicate to 4x microcontroller via ethernet cable. 4. Need to communicate with 4x VFD I need to disply all this input in scada. Thanks.

For requirement no. 1, 2 and 4; You may use S7-300 315 PN/DP CPU and one additional IO rack (IM 365, ET 200M or ET 200s). . For SCADA Communication you can use PN port. . For DRIVEs communication, If drive supports PROFIBUS protocol then you may use DP port for same. . And for point no. 3, didn't get point correctly. . Which type of Microcontroller are used. .

You can assign your PN port as a Modbus TCP/IP. . Wizard for creating connection data for Modbus TCP communication. (Modbus TCP Wizard )

If VFDs are communicating on Profibus than, My sugession is to use CPU 313-2DP / CPU 314-2DP / CPU 315-2DP, As Inputs and Outputs are not maximum, as these CPUs has 2DP, one you can directly use one port for profibus communication and one for SCADA communication. For Ethernet communication you may use CP 343 Ethernet communication module. Thanks and Regards, Leo
