3RK3 ADV - MSS Module + Profibus Slow comms Online

flyingant Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	I have a 3RK3 ADV & IM_Profibus DP adaptor. When I go online to the module using the Sirius USB adaptor plugged into the LH port of the DP module the comms update is extremely slow. (imposible to use for practical diagnostics) When I unplug PB from the DP module it does become slightly faster. If I plug directly into the MSS module itself I am unable to put the module into Test mode as it recognizes the HW as missing. I have tried with USB >> MPI adaptor and this is even slower. Any ideas?

SIRIUS ST Posts: 6 Rating: (1)	What version of MSS ES SPare you using? What is the RAM are you using? What are all the application running at the background? What do you mean by LH port?

Mr. SIRIUS Bronze-Expert Joined: 5/17/2010 Last visit: 12/19/2025 Posts: 227 Rating: (28)	Dear flyingant here somesuggestions for you to improve the performance of MSS ES online connection: -install the latest Servicepack 4 of MSS ES 2008 which includes performance improvement Download at: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/30319329 -Close all other running programs on your windows system - make sure no other device (PLC: reading data records, another PC via PROFIBUS)have access to MSS while you go online On PROFIBUS communication: -Change transmission rate on PROFIBUS to higher speed (Set PG/PC Interface: common transmission rate is 1,5Mbit/s, Profile DP) -try the connection by another PROFIBUS interface, e.g. CP5512 (this works perfectly at my system) It would be very nice to get some feedback of you here....
