sepahanesfahan Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	dears I connect s7- 314 to simatic manager by mpi port easily but as soon as I insert memory card in my plc simatic doesn't find plc at all I have changed alot of parameters like: baudrate, mpi (auto) ,.. but simatic can not find plc until I take back memory card from plc and changed plc sitting by reset factory by the way memory is not empty and work on another plc very well what is a problem?

MicroMan Platinum Member Joined: 11/29/2011 Last visit: 2/4/2025 Posts: 1362 Rating: (233)	Hi, If you Reset factory default(MRES) with an EPROM card inserted,you basically restore the stored progam from the EPROM CARD. So be carefull with that. You must make sure you restore the rightSW to theright PLC. Just a note:it is possible to have the MPI port reconfigured to Profibus DP port. Maybe that is what is happened.These factsmake me believe you mayberestored the wrong SW on your PLC. Maybe you shoulddouble check the SW you have on the EPROM card andcheck ifyou have the right SW on your PLC. Have a think about it. It is hard to say it from here, butthat is what I think happened there. Cheers.

Hello, Few questions rise up : Partnumber of the "faulty" PLC? Memorycard (the big blue one) or MMC? Is the other PLC of the same type? (partnumber?) Is the SF led lit on the PLC? Regards, Marcjan

What should I do now? Yes, if you used MRES with EPROM(come from an other PLC) inserted that is possible. Not too likely, but possible. Tell us exactly what happened, so we can assume what is the situation. Do not panic. We try to help.

There is no phisical switch to switch over from MPI to DP.The usercan change the profile of the interface from MPI to DP in the HW configuration. If you tell us exact facts about your problem, we maybe able to give you tips. Like Marcjan said before CPU type, Card Number SF LEDstatus etc...Any informationcanhelp us to help you.So give info to the society and we try our best to give yougood tips. Regards:
