Hi all,

We have some SENTRON WL ACBs (Air Circuit Breaker) with COM15 communication unit. We want to control and monitor ACBs with S7-400 CPU and WINCC through Profibus-DP network. We are limited to maximum 8 Byte read /write form COM15. But basic type 1 pre-assignment of COM15 need to 16Byte (SENTRON user manual said this pre-assignment can be changed if necessary but we don’t know how we do it?) In HWConfig we can configure input and output byte manually but we don’t read our required data from COM15.

Is there anybody know what we do? Our required data are 3 phase current and open position, close position, trip position, and test/inserted/draw out position of ACB as input values and open command and close command as output values.

You can read the Basic data from the COM15 by simpleMOV block from PIW to a VAT .
The first two byte contains breaker status information such as breaker trip,spring charged,ready to close ,COM15 write enable,breaker ON-OFF status,Breaker position in the frame,etc.
The other information like phase currents can be read using Diagnostic block.
For writing the ON-OFF control, you can make use of MOV block to PQW.
