Look at the attached document to see where the average values are located in the 9300 datamap.

Also study attachement A-3 to see how you have to request a "Change Block" so you can read data first from block 1, then block 2, and block 3.
These powermeters were originally from oustside Siemens (from Westinghouse I believe) and their standard communication format is known as Access. When you want to exchange over Profibus-DP with them, the protocol has to be adapted to their format.

So you will need to request block 1 by writing data to the output addresses reserved through the Profibus configurator for one powermeter, then use the input addresses to read the reply. Notice the reply identifies the block in the first section of the reply, so you can save this data, identify the block, retrieve the average you need and place it in an area you will dedicate for this.Then you will request data from block 2... then block 3.

You will have to repeat this procedure for each powermeter you integrate on the bus, of course.

How do you mean "Doesn't help"? Please give us specific information on your problem , instead of sweeping statements that do not mean anything.

What have you coded up to now? And what is the hW Configuration of the Y-link you are using (with addresses of the Profibus-Slaves linked to it)?

Very simple request...I need sample code to read data from (3) 9300DP meters, via ProfiBus,  through a Y-Link, to a pair of 417H CPUs. Manual says to ask for sample code, but I don't think there is anyone left who remembers these old meters!

417H CPUs are PB addr. 2

Y-Link is PB addr. 31

PMs are PB addr. 11, 12, 13

NOTHING else on this PB

Two things you can do here, after reading the Q&A on the 9300DP:

1- open the Litterature Download link and look in that page for the 9300 Profibus manual; see the attached picture as an example.

2- use the Contacts link at the top of the Siemens USA page to request the proposed sample code; you should request the 9300DP gsd file at the same time.

The code will probably be for a single 9300DP unit. For 3 you will have to repeat the code with different IO addresses to connect to each unit on the bus.

To setup 3 units behind a Y-Link is another matter. Have you any experience with Redundant S7-400H and Y-Links?

I have BEEN requesting sample code for months (since January). Seems that nobody is left that know how to do this.

I have the GSD file and have installed it, but unlike the PAC4200s, there are no modules to insert in the configuration. It just shows as a" DP Norm" device.

I understand about the I/O fields to read the data...but need control field values to configure reading the different blocks at a time. Only thing it shows is to read single register at a time.
