Hi, I've been trying to communicate with a SENTRON PAC3200 device with no success so far.

Im using Matrikon Modbus OPC Explorer and I have already added the device to the OPC Server. It seems to be connected and responding.

Though, when i try to add items to the OPC Explorer, i can't get the syntax right.

For example, i don't know how the syntax for the Measured Variable 213 (Operating Hours) is. I already tried some combinations, but even though some of them give me some values, they are not even close to the value that i get on the device's LCD Screen.

Does anyone know how the syntax for a PAC3200 Item is when using Matrikon OPC Explorer?

Hi! thanks for your answer. I have follow your instructions and i was able to connect the PAC3200 using Modscan and watch the measured variable (40214) on the address 0214 in code 03: HOLDING, that is operating hours. I also was able to write a value to it and it matched the value shown on the PAC screen.

Im now trying to imitate this behavior using Matrikon OPC Server and Matrikon OPC Explorer. I set a new device on the OPCServer with "Modbus Address" = 214. Though, when i try to add the item 40214 to it, it says "bad, comm failure". Seems like the way the items are added to the Matrikon OPC Explorer are different and i still cant get it right.

For what i understand, Matrikon OPC Explorer syntax is like this.

[OPCDeviceAlias].[FUNCTIONCODE]:[itemcode]

so what im writing is PAC3200.3:40214 (PAC3200 is the name that i set to the pac on the opc server)

Do you know if im doing anything wrong? do you know any possible solutions to this?
