MM440 for positioning

Flip-poz Posts: 16 Rating: (1)	Hi! I have replaced an old driver by a MM440 for vertical positioning. Setpoint by analogue value and digital input for start/stop. The problem: when giving an analogue setpoint of 0, the motor doesn't hold the weight, but the spindle (threaded axel) gengtly starts to rotate under the load weight. I want the MM440 to control the motor so that it doesn't rotate even there is a force try to pull it down. Is this possible with a MM440 and how? Kind regards, Filip

Working with 0 speed require external fan. Best Regards

Kind regards, Filip This vertical positioning axis must be having either counter balance system or external brake system e.g. elecro-magnetic or electro-mechanical or hydraulic. Have you checked it? Is it functioning properly? This brake system must have controlled thru drive. While replacement of old drive by new MM440, have you studied it, the logic. Please compare old drive & new drive system.

PISCEAN 2010 Posts: 8092 Rating: (884)	Please check the vertical axis ball screw & motor drive mechanism. Either it is mounted om main motor shaft or it directly mounted on screw. It is either elctro-mechanical (Electro-mgnetic brake) or electro-hydraulic.

Best regards Hello Eduardo, The mechanical brake is an external mechanical part not a parameter within the drive parameters. the servo motors as an example can be ordered with mechanical brake (which changes the part number of the motor only and does not have an external part No.) If you need to choose the correct mechanical brake, you can consult mechanical design personnel
